About Upright
More than a magazine.
Upright brings together health education, tangible tools, real resources, and hope for healing.
It was built deliberately offline, in a world where so much of the day already happens on a screen. Each issue is meant to be read slowly — on the couch, feet propped up, a cup of tea or an electrolyte drink close by — taken in page by page rather than scrolled through.
So much reliable information about POTS, MCAS, hEDS/HSD, and long COVID already exists, but it's spread across forums, research papers, social media threads, and bookmarked tabs. Talk about overwhelming and easy to loose track of. Upright was created to bring that education into one place: a physical magazine that can be returned to, marked up, and trusted.
About the Founder
Hi all! I'm Dr. Miranda Langford, a physical therapist, and the founder and editor-in-chief of Upright.
I've spent my career working with people that are navigating POTS, hEDS/HSD, MCAS, long COVID, and the complicated, overlapping reality of living in a hypersensitive body. I noticed that I kept running into the same problem as my patients: the information on these conditions was out there and existed, but it was scattered, inconsistent, and hard to keep track of.
Upright is my answer to that. It's built from years of clinical experience, collaboration with other professionals in the field, and also an abundance of knowledge from those living with these conditions. It is also from a belief that health and healing information deserves the same care and craftsmanship as any other art form. My hope is that with each read you feel a little less alone and a lot more hopeful!
Join us as we hear from professionals in the field and people living with these conditions, to help you live an Upright life!
